Job Description

Senior Full-Stack Engineer | TypeScript + React | Remote

Location: Remote – United States

Compensation: $170,000–$300,000 base + equity

Company: Confidential, venture-backed fintech startup

The Opportunity

We're partnering with a venture-backed fintech startup that's reimagining how one of the largest industries in the world operates through AI and modern software.

They're looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer who wants to build, not just maintain.

This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering team where you'll have significant ownership over the product, influence technical architecture, and build sophisticated applications that solve real-world problems.

You'll work across the entire stack, from intuitive user experiences to complex backend systems, while helping shape the technical foundation of a rapidly evolving platform.

If you're an engineer who enjoys taking ownership, moving quickly, and solving challenging problems without layers of bureaucracy, this could be an exciting next step.

What You'll Be Building

  • Design, develop, and ship end-to-end product features using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
  • Build scalable backend services and APIs that power complex financial workflows.
  • Develop and maintain GraphQL APIs using Apollo.
  • Design and optimize relational data models using PostgreSQL.
  • Build integrations with third-party financial services and lending platforms.
  • Work on AI-powered features and intelligent automation.
  • Improve application performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering leadership to make architectural and product decisions.
  • Help establish engineering best practices as the company grows.

The Tech Stack

Frontend: TypeScript, React

Backend: TypeScript, Node.js, Express

APIs: GraphQL, Apollo

Database: PostgreSQL

Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Terraform

You don't need to have worked with every technology listed, but strong production experience with TypeScript across the stack is essential.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong professional software engineering experience, ideally at a senior level.
  • Deep proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
  • Production experience building applications with React and Node.js.
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining backend APIs.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling.
  • Experience building scalable, reliable production applications.
  • Ability to independently own complex projects from initial design through deployment.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with a distributed team.

Bonus Points

  • Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup.
  • Background in fintech, lending, payments, or financial services.
  • Experience with GraphQL, Apollo, or complex third-party API integrations.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience building AI-powered applications or integrating LLMs.
  • Experience mentoring engineers or contributing to technical architecture.

Why This Opportunity?

Build with real ownership. You'll have a meaningful voice in technical decisions and the direction of the product.

Work on interesting problems. Tackle complex financial workflows, AI-powered automation, and challenging full-stack engineering problems.

Join at an exciting stage. Become part of a growing engineering organization where your contributions can have a direct impact.

Work remotely. Collaborate with a distributed team from anywhere in the United States.

Competitive compensation. $170,000–$300,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus equity.

Interested?

If you're a strong TypeScript engineer who enjoys building sophisticated products and wants to make a meaningful impact at a growing startup, we'd love to connect.
