Multimedia Designer

Location: Jackson, MS (39202)

The Multimedia Designer will support the External Communications team by creating brand-aligned visual assets, managing social media workflows, maintaining website content, and producing multimedia content for agency initiatives. This role requires strong design fundamentals, hands-on multimedia production skills, and the ability to manage digital content across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Branding
• Create high-quality, brand-aligned graphics for social media, digital platforms, and public-facing communications using Adobe Creative Suite.
• Apply core design principles—typography, color theory, layout—to maintain a consistent and professional agency image.
• Content Coordination
• Develop, maintain, and execute a proactive social media content calendar.
• Assist with distribution of external digital communications across multiple platforms.
• Web Maintenance
• Perform routine website updates, content entry, and digital asset publishing through Drupal or another CMS.
• Ensure web content meets accessibility, accuracy, and agency brand standards.
• Multimedia Production
• Capture photography and videography at agency events.
• Perform basic editing, optimization, and formatting for web and social media use.
• Quality & Accessibility
• Ensure all visual and digital assets follow accessibility guidelines, including WCAG principles.
• Support quality control reviews for public-facing materials.

Required Skills & Experience

• Professional Experience
• 1–3 years of professional experience in graphic design, digital media, or a related field.
• Technical Proficiency
• Strong skills using Adobe Creative Suite, especially: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
• Experience with digital photography and videography, including shooting and basic editing.
• Experience updating website content using a CMS (Drupal preferred).
• Ability to support external digital communications and content distribution workflows.
• Content Planning
• Prior experience developing, maintaining, or contributing to a social media content calendar.
• Design Fundamentals
• Demonstrated understanding of typography, layout, and color theory as shown in a professional portfolio.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

• Experience designing accessible digital assets, including WCAG 2.1 AA requirements.
• Experience specifically using Drupal for website management.
• Motion graphics or animation experience using Adobe After Effects or Premiere Pro.
• Experience in government, public sector, or non-profit communications.
• Familiarity with professional scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Airtable).
• Ability to write or adapt public-facing content in a clear, jargon-free style.
• Experience remediating PDFs using CommonLook.
